ICT Barriers in South African Education

ICT is the most important thing to be used by educators  and learners in schools so that education can be done simple and be able to have knowledge in technology. In our country ICT  is not used in many schools because of the shortage of technology more specially in the rural areas where by there is a lack of knowledge about ICT. I think ICT must be engaged in every schools around the country so that the learners can be capable in using computers and everything about technology more in rural areas because there even teachers are not used in technology and I think they need some training.

The barriers in ICT can be caused by many things like poverty,uneducated,crime,lack of knowledge and many things.By poverty, when you need a personal computer you can not have it because it need a lot of money to buy it.You need to have a perfect job so that you can own one,that can a barrier because poverty lead a person not to afford one.When there is no money you can not even send your child to good schools that provides computer training studies.

Crime can be a barrier because once the computers are installed some of the community members steal those computers and some parts of them even some of the students are not trusted because they also become the thief's,and  they forget that those things will help them and their communities..When you are not educated you can not be able to use ICT even if you have one personal computer at home.

During my schooling years I have missed a lot of things and information about ICT because we were not having computers at all,they were installed a year after our metric,even our teachers were not having knowledge of ICT because it was only used by the clerk of the school and we were in the rural areas.As a pre-service teacher I want to learn more about ICT and I want to teach my learners about it.
